Symlinks not supported on NTFS USB after Upgrade 19.02 to 19.07.7

Since the subject upgrade, I am no longer able to create symbolic links on my attached USB SSD. I have also lost the links that were there. It is formatted NTFS.

I am using a Turris Omnia with 19.07.7 and the following software installed:

ntfs-3g
ntfs-3g-low
ntfs-3g-utils
usbutils

kmod-usb-core
kmod-usb-ehci
kmod-usb-ohci
kmod-usb-storage
kmod-usb-storage-extras
kmod-usb-storage-uas
kmod-usb-uhci
kmod-usb2
kmod-usb3

samba36-hotplug
samba36-net
samba4-client
samba4-libs
samba4-server
samba4-utils
luci-app-samba4

I have tried just with samba4 and then with samba36 without any luck.

The disk mounts fine and I can read and write to the disk. But when I try to create a symbolic link, it says operation not supported.

When I attach the usb to my desktop, I can create symbolic links without any problem.

I have applied: ntfsfix /dev/sda1 to the disk without any luck.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
