I am just curious if anyone knows anything about this hardware, more specifically if anyone is working on supporting it or even if support is possible, even without wifi?

More generally if forum search yields nothing probably you are the first with such device and lets make first some attempt to document hardware, and if it is further supportable/viable you will still be only one at the point to do the gruntwork of adding support.
Lets ttry documenting it:
Take a normal resolution picture of device label, blur out all barcodes and MAC addresses and one-time looking passcodes. Normally on tplink top line contains marketing name,and text above top right is more technical model name/revision.
- Set device logging to maximum/debug
- power it off and on
- once booted go to where OEM firmware web UI shows logs,
- copy that in full and paste to local text editor
- try to mask stuff like public IP-s, MAC addresses
- extract SoC type and RAM from first lines
- try to assess flash size from lines about
mtdsomewhere half way - 1-2 lines about like wifi, gsm, usb,network adapter, i.e rough assesment of what is inside
- Post sanitized log if you cant find info, more eyes see better
