Yes BE800 for sure still haven't seen much NFO beyond this thread on these units I want to say the issue is with the Ports and the Driver for them as well as the chip.
I think they should make it illegal not to provide drivers for hardware in what is basically a computer it's dumb at the end of the day. The FCC thinks it will improve security but they are not thinking of how these devices are not supported years from now and people will still be using them not to mention all the firmware which comes wrapped with them is made by a nation that is known to require backdoors within firmware. And to have this whole TPLINK ID thing tied to your phone NOT GOOD! There is a reason they leave out functionality without the phone application. They want to push you to use the ID with the phone etc... TPLink has decent products but lately there has been a lot of questionable things being monitored at data centers and such with TPLINK equipment. Would be great to see these guys release the needed NFO so we know they are on the UP and UP with this equipment it appears there are several issues with the stock firmware thus far network traffic scanning has picked up some security risks and I have mine setup as tight as I can run it mostly everything disabled including wifi so with that said it makes me wonder. Have had all kinds of irregularities I'm not used to seeing and random things happen. Would be a huge bonus to get this thing on some open firmware.
Irregularities concern ARP issues and DHCP Reservation as well as MAC Binding sometimes this router has a mind of it's own if you have a MAC that is bound and DHCP is reserved it should never pickup a new IP address to where you have 2 instances of the device with different IP's. Yet somehow it happened to me support tells me not to worry but how could you not.
Newly support 3-band (2.4GHz + 5GHz + 6GHz) MLO connection.
Newly support EasyMesh in AP mode.
Newly support DoH/DoT.
Enhanced system stability and security. (what does this mean the addition of DOH and DOT make it more secure or did they do something else?
DOH is a welcomed thing for sure.
Yeah it is a beta "pre release" may improve security while containing new bugs available for those who'd like to test and figure that out. I may simply cause DNS Over HTTPS (DOH)
I am unsure but it might be helpful in order to garner some information to get closer to open firmware I dunno the process for this if people reverse engineer the firmware to get binary blobs or how it is all accomplished. But maybe this new issue with the 2.5GB SFP+ might give up the ghost on where that is located in the binary come the next update so you might want to download this one and use examdiff or something similar to try and gather info? Dunno never tried to crack a router personally I think they mostly just gain root access and garner the info that way by the looks of it. You'd think there would be more than one way to skin that cat. Hrmmm yeah updates are good to post cause its good to have different variations of firmware to target isn't it.
Bottom Line: If it isn't OPENWRT or Tomato, or DDWRT we will never get to a spot where the hardware can see its full potential. The company needs to share drivers in about 1 year with the proper drivers they'll have better firmware than there inhouse developers would be able to happen upon over the entire course of firmware upgrades that TPLink would provide. Not to mention with all of the security breaches, the latest being "Salt Typhoon" where your text messages are being collected I'd prefer not to have my phone tied to my router it's just a bad idea they are obsessed with privacy intrusion and data gathering at every turn and the allowance of it makes everything more dangerous not to mention the collection of data is often used for disingenuous purposes. Good hardware but lately the firmware has been causing TPLink Equipment to take hits on being a trusted vendor.
Which feedback are you référent to ? On the tp link community forum there is no mention of disconnection. Imsince i do have ethernet 2.5g instability with 1.1.6 though I’m interested in the topic
