Strange Connectivity Issue with OpenWrt on Raspberry Pi 5

Hello,

I'm encountering a peculiar problem with my OpenWrt setup and would appreciate any insights or suggestions from the community. I'm running OpenWrt 24.10.1 on a Raspberry Pi 5 with an MT7922 M.2 card configured in STA-AP mode.

My connected devices include an Android Samsung S23, an iPhone 15 Pro Max, a PlayStation Portal, and a MacBook Pro.

Issue Description

Everything works perfectly across all devices until I connect my MacBook Pro to the AP. Once the MacBook is connected, the internet drops for all connected devices. I can't open websites or access online services on any device, including the MacBook itself. I have to refresh web pages multiple times, which sometimes restores connectivity, but this is inconsistent and frustrating.

Additional Details

  • The issue seems to be triggered specifically by the MacBook Pro's connection; other devices don't cause this behavior.
  • I'm unsure if this is related to the MT7922 driver, a configuration issue with STA-AP mode, or something specific to how the MacBook interacts with the network.
  • I haven't noticed any error logs or obvious indicators of the problem yet, but I'm happy to provide logs or run diagnostic commands if someone can guide me on what to look for.

Thank you in advance.

The symptoms are typical of an inadequate or failing power supply. Depending on what other things you are using along with that wireless card, even the recommended 5 amp power supply might not be enough....
