Ssh command in background

I use bulk copy, to and from WNDR4700 using USB hard drive.

Here is how I do it. I login wndr4700 via ssh, then i mount external hdd using mount, and copy using cp . but when i shutdown my laptop where ssh is running copying stop.

Is there any fix to this.

I want to run commands completely at wndr4700

Help me please please

install screen package and run cp in it.
