Simple question: In openWRT documentation wireguard is recommended. But there is also a package kmod-wireguard. Which one should I use or even better to know what is the difference between these packages?
You need them both.
One is the wireguard executable and the other is the kernel module.
If you install the wireguard, the kmod will also be installed as a dependency.
