Software/Hardware Offloading on AP

Is there anything to be gained by enabling Software or Hardware offloading on a dumb AP since it is not 'NAT'ing ?

Is it routing ? I would say no . Its ip is not the default router for any device .

In my experience you will get better speeds on wifi without any offloading enabled.
