Software flow offloading

Hey guys,

I'm using openwrt installed on vm as my router. My connection is via pppoe. When i enable software offload my upload speed goes really slow.

Is this a known issue?
Is there a fix for it?

Edit: I'm using the latest stable release (OpenWrt 18.06.1 r7258-5eb055306f) i also tried on the latest snapshot - it behaved the same.

@fvlaicu if I understand correctly, it might be a known issue with possibly no fix.

@hnyman in the context of your comment, it makes no difference whether the offloading is SW or HW, based, right?

I have just enabled the SW offloading, out of curiosity, though I don't know how much of a difference it will make on a crappy DSL :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey @aboaboit,

I think the problem that i was facing was that all the outgoing packets (even the pppoe ones) were offloaded. I added a custom firewall rule to bypass offload for pppoe and upload speed was fine.
