Setting up OnHub TP-Link as a repeater

I'm new to OpenWRT and I just flashed it onto my Google OnHub TP-Link router. I'm not really sure what to do next.

Here's what I want to do with my router. I want to use this router when I travel (road trips) and have to work remotely from another home (either AirBnB or friend/relatives house). Assume I don't always have access to the router where I'm staying (can't log into it, sometimes not even physical access)

I either want to:

  1. setup my onHub as a repeater so that all my devices can connect to my router because they all have the SSID and pw for mine already

  2. or connect my router via ethernet to local router and all my devices connect to my router

I do everything through the Luci interface but also comfortable SSH-ing in and using the command line.

thanks!

look into the travelmate package

nice, thanks!

I've installed it and now to figure out the best settings for this. I'm still new to all of this stuff and there are so many config options.
