RT3200 upgrade bricked (22.03.5 to 22.03.7)

Currently running 22.03.5 and figured I would update to the latest 22.03.7 before attempting to upgrade to 23.05. Looks like it was a mistake to try this.

These were originally installed a while ago so I do not think that the 1.1 stuff applies. I tried upgrading using auc per dangowrt's instructions.

RT3200 did not come back as expected. ping is unreachable. I suspect that it may have factory reset to 192.168.1.1 as I was having trouble with the network until I powered it off. RT3200 IP address is supposed to be 192.168.1.6. It will take me a bit to unplug and set up for isolated testing but looking for ideas/suggestions.

BusyBox v1.35.0 (2023-05-03 22:07:11 UTC) built-in shell (ash)

Should I not have used "auc"?

You should have added config files you changed to /etc/sysupgrade.conf

Were you able to solve the problem? I have the exact same issue when i upgraded to 22.03.7 from luci GUI. Now I am stuck in recovery OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r18125-b764cb9e5b. I tried force-installing https://github.com/dangowrt/owrt-ubi-installer/releases/download/v1.1.3/openwrt-mediatek-mt7622-linksys_e8450-ubi-initramfs-recovery-installer.itb from the recovery flash firmware but it reverts back to OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r18125-b764cb9e5b after restarting.

I checked the b2

root@OpenWrt:~# grep "(release)" /dev/mtd0ro
v2.4(release):OpenWrt v2021-05-08-d2c75b21-1 (mt7622-snand-1ddr)

Any ideas how i might get the sys image working ?
I tried installing luci from cli

But i get kernel dependency since my kernel is v5.10.80

So I just fixed things. I had a suspicion that things were reset to default and indeed they were.

The upgrade from 22.03.5 to 22.03.7 resulted in a default config connecting at 192.168.1.1.

What was interesting was that the first login indicated that things were in recovery mode running 22.03.0. I updated the firmware to what I had on hand which was 22.03.6 and had to fully power cycle (unplug/replug) to get things to pop up. After that, I uploaded an older config and things appeared to be back to normal.

Because I did the initial install quite a while ago, I'm on a sufficiently old release that I could directly upgrade to 23.05.4 using the normal sysupgrade without issue. You should check out the wiki if you have a different version.

So now I am on 23.05.4 for one of my APs. Going to let it run for a bit before bumping to 23.05.5.
