it's long but I suspect you have not included the default ones, like dropbear and iptables.

can you try this;

i've added alot... probably missed a few... ( check packages.txt on git )

don't forget to add quagga / darkstat to;

ENABLEDSERVICES="quagga modemmanager dbus darkstat sqm banip etc etc"

and remind me about other stuff to add... once you're on a newer release...

for everyone else... improvements have been made to the restore logix but do need alot of testing...

specifically...

add all the 'extra packages' you use one perline into;
/etc/packagesinstall.txt

grep -q '/etc/packagesinstall.txt' /etc/sysupgrade.conf || echo "/etc/packagesinstall.txt" >> /etc/sysupgrade.conf

with the newer logic... the packages are always added if opkg is working during firstboot(late)... if it's not working... then you can use that as your one liner to install them on top...

the exceptions are;

  • useful utilities
  • packages needed for firstboot internet access

which should go into the build...

lol... just found out thanks to trendy this was never in the build... added due to popular demand...

is there a way to run dslstats inside openwrt on PI4?

if it is possible please tell me :hugs:

meh... libc / lazarus... don't bother...

( echo "USERNAME"; sleep 1; echo "PASSWORD"; sleep 1; echo "xdslctl info --stats"; sleep 2) | nc MODEMIP 23 2>&1 )

forum search collectd modem

Is there anyway to include my backup settings into this community build so when it boots, it's pre-configured?

yes and no... you can use 'sysupgrade -p -k'... but there will be bugs as nobody is testing this functionality... should testers put hands up and 3+ people are interested... we can probably do something better... re-applying settings / copying a few directories works for most people...

didn't have time to open a bug report, but noticed that:

  1. when doing regular surfing, normal internet usage (mostly download): line stable
  2. as soon as I start a long file transfer (upload) to internet, the' line' keeps dropping every x mins...

using the carrier provided modem, never experienced this, and will reconfirm it's not related to this.... (by bypassing the openwrt pi4)
cheers

Not as easy as putting some files into a folder on the microsd before plugging it in then... Shame :flushed:

yeah... I think you'll find it's more of a FOSS/politic thing... but that reasoning also works...

ffmpeg-aarch64-musl let me know if it works as intended... ( note: vcgencmd needs to be used if you want to activate the on-die codecs... maybe for small iptv stuff could be worth it... ? )

H.264 / AVC / MPEG-4 AVC / MPEG-4 part 10 (decoders: h264 h264_v4l2m2m ) (encoders: libx264 libx264rgb h264_v4l2m2m h264_vaapi
Hardware acceleration methods:
vdpau
vaapi

on-die ootb

vcgencmd codec_enabled MPG4 && vcgencmd codec_enabled H264 && vcgencmd codec_enabled WVC1 && vcgencmd codec_enabled MPG2 && vcgencmd codec_enabled MJPG && vcgencmd codec_enabled WMV9
MPG4=disabled
H264=enabled
WVC1=disabled
MPG2=disabled
MJPG=enabled
WMV9=disabled

not exactly quick, comparabl-ish tho'...

#ffmpeg -i JiroSushi.mp4 -s 640x480 -c:a copy /tmp/JiroSmallSushi.mp4
#2.5x@60fps~<4cores

YES, this is perfect!!!
Thank you so much.

My camera outputs 720p 30fps video and each clip is only 17s long, so even a slow encoder does the job.
Also, I only really need to decode h.264 and create animated gif's of the clips, that way I can put all in a webpage and see in a glance if there was something happening, and for that it's even faster.

should i try it?

Hi. How i can resize overlay partition? I have 32GB card and I want more space for software packages. Or other space on card for data files from services as Samba, etc.

parted -l; df -h; mount; block info

This is for list only but I want command or steps for change size.

We found information about the so-called exroot, but I understood that it is a different partition and the data is stored elsewhere, which I do not want. I just want to change (enlarge) the existing partition where save "Software" packages.

Is there anywhere I can download old builds? I wanted to reinstall but forgot to save the file, and there are none on git

proliferating builds with alternate package-sets and legacy codebases impedes progress... whats wrong with the build above exactly?

I thought that one was broken, since it's for today and the readme says "no builds currently".
Maybe it was my understanding then... Does this mean that build is working?
