Netgear R6120 just got bricked and all light stright on. Last night was ok. In morning this device got like this and no wireless or lan port is working. Anyway to fix this device. Ist last running on openwrt letest firmwire. And its pretty good device for myself. Anyway to fix this dude. I am alredy missin him.
try nmrpflash as described in https://openwrt.org/toh/netgear/r6120#installation.
Its not connecting on pc with lan port. Show not connected with internet on pc.
if it bricked itself (and we assume it's not dead) it's not going to connect to anything, until you recover it, no ?
nmrpflash is a low level protocol to upload firmware (like TFTP). It is active for a couple of seconds at the earliest stage of booting, before even the OS is booted. It is precisely meant to recover a bricked device. So unless the device has a severe HW malfunction (i.e dead as @frollic means) you have nothing to lose. Try different timings between launching the command and powering up. Experience shows me that each device has its own timing.
Which may be a bold assumption, considering the rust on the rf shields and liquid damage around the rectifier circuit. While anything is possible, and the software recovery approaches should always be tried first, I would not rule out hardware damage.
Has the device been running a tropic/ humid environment and/or near the sea (salt)? This is not a state I would expect from a <8 year old device that has been operated indoors, under ‘normal’ (home-/ office) climate circumstances.
It's the rainy season on our side, and has the humidity been high for some time?
How should i know which port router used on bootup.
What will be the next step.
Any port should do. All infos here
My only tip is to test different timings between launching the command and powering on.
Ideally monitoring the boot with serial link would be great by I can see no pin on the UART.
Lights come on and stay on means the bootloader is not running. Since you haven’t flashed anything lately it’s going to be a hardware failure. There is probably nothing on the serial port either.
I just tryed hitting the router. And nmrpflash several times. Nothing work. Its hardwire failed.
No ethernet conecting.
Can’t tell better.
