RE650_V2 tiny available flash size

According to the ToH, this device should have 8MB of flash, but I'm stuck with only 960.0K of total space on the /overlay.
Am I missing something or is there something wrong with the device/firmware/... ?

The Openwrt image plus other partitions, like boot loader, boot loader data, ART, etc, sits it the other ~7mb.

Thanks, that makes sense. Just for my own edification, why is this not visible when using df? I expected that it would show up as a line showing 100% in use.

Openwrt tries to retain stock flash layout, what you see is based on the layout from TP-Link.

For details do a cat /proc/mtd.
