I want to setup my RE305 and RE200 as a repeater before I get the Zyxel Multy M1, mentioned in my last post
I currently want to test with my current RE450 by changing the SSID so devices connect only to the RE305 and RE200 to test 802.11r roaming, but the RE200 and RE305 will not connect to the RE450 with error "timed out" and "4way handshake"
I am sorry but what gives you the right to remove my [before Christmas] and not answer my question
I need to know if 802.11r is going to fix my issues before I buy the Zyxel Multy M1
its been 7 hours with no answer, I need this worked out before Christmas, so I can but the Zyxel Multy M1 in the new year or after Christmas
the amount of posts I have had to make just to get the answers I need
so I am going to rename the title to [Urgent / Before Christmas] if i have had no help by tomorrow
I know your all probably volunteers but there has been newer activity than this
so if you are volunteers how do you edit my post without a moderator
I need them both accessible though wi-fi and the ethernet cables removed
I have ethernet cables going to both of them ready to be correctly setup but am getting nowhere
there are limited electrical sockets in this room, so I have ethernet cables running to the other side of the house, thats why this is getting urgent
When 802.11r Fast Roaming doesn't work with your devices, I would suggest to turn this feature off.
Note: roaming in that case will take somewhat longer (ie 525ms instead of 42ms according this report)
so your not helping we with my connection issue, thats the most important thing at the minute
Fast Roaming will work with my devices according to the apple page I read
most devices are iPhones
and still 525ms is better than around 20 seconds I have been getting at the minute
BUT at the minute all I need is for it to connect to the RE450 which will be replaced with the Zyxel Multy M1, I need to test if this setup will even work
I thought you wanted to fast roam with Apple devices?
Each post you make is different. Perhaps you should clearly state what you desire. Additionally, you may want to use full sentences and punctuation.
What last post?
You made this statement in Post No 1.
None of your posts provides details as to why you have multiple non-working APs. Lastly, you may wish to share the configs if you honestly want some assistance.
Also, please explain how Ethernet cords relate to electrical sockets?
The RE200/RE305 are wall pluggable devices, at the minute there is not communication to them over Wi-Fi like I need, so I have to run ethernet cables to them to access LuCi, and because there are no free electrical sockets in this room, I have to run them to the other side of the house. There is no in wall ethernet in this house, so there are in the walk ways of the house
I will give you my configs, yes that would help you, why didn't I think about that sorry
the config for wireless is exactly the same on both the RE200 and the RE305
The same applies for 5.4 GHz, you generally cannot set a channel on a radio with a STA config. It may help if you review my posts to answer some inquires needed to better assist you.
Yes, this is normal - because the STA needs to connect FIRST, then the AP can come up on the channel the upstream device has. You can only use 1 channel per radio, the STA determines the channel, so it must connect first.
I would suggest not using a DFS channel on the upstream AP. They must perform a scan before coming online.
