It’s awesome
24.10.0rc5 for me has been extremely stable so far, had no issues.
I swapped from using mbim protocol to modemmanager (“mm” which also uses the mbim protocol, (can also use QMI) but manages the connection differently?, from what I’ve been able to understand). Another major difference between the 2 is, mm has an extra section in the status tab, last one as pictured above with the yellow arrow pointing to “Cellular Network”., and it doesn’t require that virtual interface (which is automatically created when you create the mbim interface).
Using mm, and on the cellular network tab, it lists everything, with the “signal strength” being my most useful feature. We had heavy rain a few days ago, and signal strength confirmed a weaker signal, whereas I could never see any details about my cellular connection using only the mbim protocol.
Been running for about week, the pi doesn’t reboot (a good thing, coz using mbim on its own the pi would need to actually reboot), I guess mm really does work differently and for the better!
Now it only soft reboots every 24hrs (+/- 3min).
