When I went from 17.04.5-->18.06.1 I did it via TFTP due to some differences in image sizes as I recall.
Now that I have 18.06.1 running on the hardware, is the recommended procedure to update to 18.06.2 via TFTP or can I simply go through LuCi (system>backup/flash) and upload netgear_r7800-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin from there?
You can simply go with LuCI sysupgrade (or ssh console sysupgrade) to upgrade your R7800.
TFTP flashing was only needed to move from 17.01 to newer stuff (to larger kernel partition & larger general storage partition). 18.06.2 has no difference to 18.06.1 there, so sysupgrade works ok.
Thank you both the replies. The update was very simple and I seem to be up and running after restoring a few of my packages.
