Problem with flashing NanoBeam5acGen2

Hi all, discovering Openwrt few days ago, beyond hope all this accomplished job and sharing !!
Thank you

I try to install Openwrt on Nanobeam5ACgen2 Ubiquiti and after following
the page

i did
-install the v8.5.0.36727 version
-by scp upload the openwrt-19.07.0-ath79-generic-ubnt_nanostation-ac-loco-squashfs-factory.bin
-before patching, i verify checksum of /bin/fwupdate.real
3584df67dd90aeedf4bee71c08292233 /bin/fwupdate.real
-patch the soft as indicated
hexdump -Cv /bin/ubntbox | sed 's/14 40 fe fe/00 00 00 00/g' | hexdump -R > /tmp/fwupdate.real
-make it executable
-make a check with nex fwupdate.real like this:
/tmp/fwupdate.real -c openwrt-19.07.0-ath79-generic-ubnt_nanostation-ac-loco-squashf
no message, no error
-then start the upgrade:
/tmp/fwupdate.real -m openwrt-19.07.0-ath79-generic-ubnt_nanostation-ac-loco-squashf

as expected the return is:
Writing 'kernel ' to /dev/mtd2(kernel ) ... [%100]
Writing 'rootfs ' to /dev/mtd3(rootfs ) ... [%100]
Then wait while reboot...
and nothing more
try to connect
scan the network

Nothing more

I confirm tftp rescue mode work whith this model so i can re-install the 8.5.0 version.
(notice that work on reset buttons of AP, but not on the PoE)

I can't yet open the box so can't try serial access unfortunaly.

Has someone success with this model NanobeamACgen2 ?
Somebody can help ?
Thanks for some idea.

The wiki page does not say to install the loco build. That version will not work on that model. The AC-loco is a smaller unit with one Ethernet port. If you have the one with two Ethernet ports there is definitely a switch involved.

  • check led activity
  • try ping, on one of my litebeam there was some problem with eth connection unrecognized at first even with ubnt fw
  • try this method it should work Are Ubiquiti Blocking Lede Installation?

and yeah, as suggested above make a proper image for your device

Thanks, note i try both with loco build and with the openwrt-19.07.2-ath79-generic-ubnt_nanobeam-ac-squashfs-factory.bin, for both same result.

Did you try both ports-- it's going to set one up as WAN and you won't have access through that one.

thanks, i ll read this tomorrow, and what for first link to make an image ?, never did that yet.

It could, I try but nothing

I can't always reach the Ap herself but it act has a switch with both ports ! So not totally broken !
