Hello everyone,
I recently installed OpenWRT and tried to configure some statistics for it.
As I wanted to see some stats from LAN I wanted to make the page for it accessible without password authentication.
For this use case there exists the following Wikipage.
So, I followed the steps and rebooted the device, to then notice,
that I could not access OpenWRT anymore, neither with ssh nor with the web interface.
Somehow I gained access again trough removing the extroot storage, which enabled me to see some logs.
Some of the logs contained messages about the lua file not containing a "handle_request(env)" function. Also inside the folder /usr/lib/ I found then a so file for the luci interface, which contained binary data, but also some error message about lua or luci which was similar to the one before. Sorry, I don't remember right now exactly and currently don't have access.
I can not say 100% certainly, that this change messed up my installation, because there might have been some other small changes, but I am pretty sure. To me it seems the docu is either outdated or someone might had some malicious intent here. Maybe, it could also be, that I messed up somewhere,
but I am currently not aware of it.
I guess for some experts here it would be easy to spot if this docu contains errors, so wanted to bring it up and if the assumption is true, then it can be adapted or maybe removed, so others do not fall for it.
Thank you for the otherwise very good docu and hope the issue can be resolved easily.
Kind Regards,
