Potential future Qualcomm PPE support

Phoronix reports that qualcomm’s PPE engine is going to be integrated upstream (in 6.18 at the earliest). I’m just wondering if this means easier support (when backports become available) or is this unrelated to PPE forks that already exist?

Before others ask: this will take at least a year or more if even possible.

Post the link?

Its already being used in qualcommbe target

Ok, thank you for the info

Do not expect for this to have any impact on the existing Qualcomm targets (other than ipq957x or the future ipq53xx), QCA changed their hardware design for their new wifi 7 (qualcommbe) chipsets, only there these new PPEs exist. None of this applies to ipq40xx/ ipq806x, ipq50xx/ ipq60xx/ ipq807x (qualcommax) chipsets.

Is this Qualcomm feeling the heat from MediaTek?

Probably more the pain of having to rebase the NSS code, combined with newer ARM- and IP cores giving more (mainline supported) options for little (less-) effort.
