I know everyone is going to kill me, but can we try and see if we can improve the USB adapter somehow
433.3Mbps should give more than 60Mbps right?

firstly I want to remove the unused drivers, no idea which the adapter is actually using
could the lower USB voltage at 4.9 volts be causing issues?

Well you should probably figure that out. I'm sure Google will give plenty of ideas of relevant Linux commands to find out what drivers are being used. Although why you think removing unused drivers would do anything is another question..
