Outdoor dual band Mikrotik 'Mantbox 52 15s'

I would like to get OpenWrt running this device RBD22UGS-5HPacD2HnD-15S dual band Mikrotik mANTBox 52 15s . A dual-band 2.4/5 GHz base station with a powerful built-in sector antenna, PoE support, Gigabit Ethernet, and SFP ram size 256MB. [ The mANTBox 15s] which is just a 5 GHz device already supported (https://openwrt.org/toh/mikrotik/mikrotik_rb921).

do not look for that, that's a different target, if you want try, you should try the initram of the MikroTik SXTsq 5 ac , search for that on github, but do not flash the sysupgrade, just check if that initram work. and if so that is a good start
that shoul work with small changes, mabie just the name of the device.

thanks for the hint

Hello

Did you succeed ? I'm also interested in running openwrt on mantbox 52 15s

I have not seen OpenWrt support for this device, but all it needs is someone (with the device, or netmetal ac2—very similar) to put the work in.
There should be little difference to the other mikrotik ipq40xx dual band devices: hap ac2, cap ac or wap ac (current gen). You could base your work off of one of these.

Maybe USB from the hap ac2: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/blob/master/target/linux/ipq40xx/files/arch/arm/boot/dts/qcom-ipq4018-hap-ac2.dts
The networking will need to be adjusted for the single gigabit ethernet + SFP slot. I have not seen SFP working in OpenWrt ipq40xx, but Robi Marko did mention getting it working when doing MDIO changes for the ipq40xx target.

I ended up getting one of these, and preliminary testing on the bench looks good, with eth, NOR, SFP, usb, wifi all appearing to work: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/commit/96bf18ff518842eb7017e2b78201b397db54887b
