yeah i did that but got this error:

But the internet works just fine

Does ping downloads.openwrt.org work? Run it on the router not your PC.

From the router itself???

Just a guess: one typical error is the missing DNS and gateway settings from network config in a dumb AP (secondary router). The client PCs get those items via DHCP from the main router, but the secondary router with a fixed IP does nto use DHCP and does not get them.
