Opkg error, Could not lock

opkg update
Collected errors:

  • opkg_conf_load: Could not lock /var/lock/opkg.lock: Permission denied.
    chmod 666 to /var/lock/opkg.lock, still got the same error
    any ideas?

Nothing has changed since the previous (several) threads where you have asked for help with this device on the OpenWrt forums... the fork of OpenWrt on that device is not (and will never be) supported here.
