OpenWRT One m2 2230 mount

Hello,

I am the new owner of an OpenWRT One (HW 24.03) and have ordered an m2 SSD (2230) to go with it. Unfortunately, the mount is not installed in the hardware revision and is lying separately in the bag (presumably because most people install 2242 devices and the mount gets in the way?).

I'm just not sure how to install the mount. It's larger than the corresponding hole. There appears to be solder on the top. Do you just solder it in place?

Many thanks and best regards,
Bastian

Have you got the version without a case?

I have the version with the case (and antennas, power supply).
Ordered from a German retailer. There is also a sticker for joy-it.net (presumably the importer?) on the packaging.

I simply soldered the socket in place with a little extra solder.

  • Put a little solder in the mounting hole
  • Pressed the tip of the soldering iron (clean / without solder) into the screw hole
et voila, the socket sank nicely into the center.

SSD works
