Hello,
I think it's awesome to custom-design a sensible, affordable, and maintenance-friendly router tailored to OpenWRT's strengths. Kudos to all involved.
The planned router announced here, has a name which might not be very good for search-ability in the future, owing to its genericness. It is furthermore a bland name. Why not some kind of a fun, catchy name?
For example, just like Linux has its very widely known penguin mascot , how about some kind of animal? I, for one, think owls are pretty cool
, so I would suggest names like "OpenWRT Uhu" ("Uhu" is a german word for owl, photo here), "OpenWRT owlbot", or some such.
Perhaps a poll for some good alternate candidate names that the signers-off nominate, could be put on a poll right here in this forum? I'm referring to these illustrious "signers-off":
Signed-off-by: Alexander Couzens lynxis@fe80.eu
Signed-off-by: Bradley M. Kuhn bkuhn@sfconservancy.org
Signed-off-by: Daniel Golle daniel@makrotopia.org

Then once the candidate alternate names are voted on in a poll, we'll know by consensus which name carries the most charm and appeal in this community.
