OpenWrt hangs at boot (RPi 4b, keyboard)

I have a boot issue. It is a RPi 4b and I can not ssh into it untill I use a keyboard and hit 'enter'.
It hangs here

[ 10.348436) br-lan: port 2(ulan0) entered blocking state I 10.3570811 br-lan: port 2(ulan0) entered forwarding state
I 10.3659741 IPv6: ADDRCONF (NETDEU_CHANGE): br-lan: link beconcs ready

This keeps me from using my other RPi's, mini pc, and android s to work with it w/o the Spanish keyboard. I should have brought my laptop.

I do have the static IP address and can work with it. Believe it or not with the usb keyboard that I have in Mexico has different shift key options, whatever... that limit me to command line commands. Very odd

Can you elaborate here? Are you saying that your Pi cannot be reached by another host on the network (via ssh, when connected by ethernet) unless you have a keyboard physically connected to the Pi itself and then hit enter?

I don't mean to hijack this...I'm having the same issue with OpenWRT and VPN router here in Mexico. I boot up the Pi and it hangs on that same br-lan..

IPv6: ADDRCONF (NETDEU_CHANGE): br-lan: link beconcs ready

I have to hit 'enter' but I did not have a USB keyboard, only Bluetooth. Until I found on here, and It's in Spanish!

So I can now get access but it's not "right".
How can I let it completely boot?

Thanks for the help!

but you are, x86_64 and RPi/ ARMv8 are totally different pairs of shoes, unless you're very sure that there's a common cause (there most certainly isn't), these would be different issues.

That aside, what makes you believe that the system would 'hang' in the first place?
There's nothing unexpected about br-lan: link beconcs ready being the last message on the console, it's usually indicative of a successful boot - and indeed, you won't get to see a boot prompt before hitting [enter], but the router is still fully up and functional.

Assuming a default configuration, once lan is ready, you can connect any computer to the built-in Ethernet port (which is part of the LAN network) and log in to 192.168.1.1 with ssh or http.

On a side note, I am still working on getting the NordVPN to work.

It was suggested you create a new post for your issue.

@Ed-G - I've moved your posts from the similar (but not related) thread about difficulties booting in VB to this thread that you had started a few days later.

Please use this thread for troublshooting the issue.

Dear slh,

Thank you very much for the explanation. Just pressed ENTER in the VM console on my ESXi host, and I got OpenWRT login invitation. 192.168.1.1 is available, too.

In fact, the issue is not an issue lol. It is just confusing when setting up things for the first time.
