OpenWRT for unknow router

Hello.
I have a router of unknown model. It has an RTL8197 chip on it. Is it possible to install an OpenWRT on such a router? Is it possible to install the firmware for a famous router on an RTL8197 chip? How to do this without using the admin panel in the router at 192.168.0.1?

Realtek chipsets are not supported here. No hope ever will be unless realtek comes forward and upstreams base bits to bring up their SoC.

no famous router runs RTL8197, if it would, it wouldn't be famous.

Thank you. And if it's for a unknou router on a chip MT7621?

then it's at least supportable, but not supported.

Probably easier and cheaper (if you value your time in money)to choose out of 300-some 7621 routers already supported.

def faster :wink:

Could you name a good instruction for installing an unknown router with a chip 7621?

what part of the difference between supportable and supported was unclear ?

Make a new thread, it involves getting devicetree data out of OEM firmware, setting serial (less often jtag or spi) connection to recover from bad experiments, then booting your PoC compilation or existing similar kernel+initrd images from the network.
Higly advisable to start a thread in developer section with exact device description, some pcb pictures, links to oem firmware etc.
