the w6x is 166$ usd on ebay, i think im gonna go for a xiaomi 4c gigabit 20$ here but i dont know there have been so many bugs with flashing that i have read and that makes me doubt
there are devices with SFP support, they would even fit within your ~$40 price range, but I have no idea if you can get them shipped to CO.

keep in mind the page won't list any x86 hw with sftp's like the Dell Edge E42W 620 (or 640 and 680).

also was considering for upgrade the linksys ea8300 but you need to tweak it and is not plug and play so discarded

sure, but it narrows down your options, a lot.
You aren't going to either way.
Most ftth deployments are GPON based these days, meaning you either need a dedicated ONT or an SFP+ based ONT. Same difference, both are 'modems' running their own proprietary firmware, functionally identical, just a different formfactor. By insisting on SFP, you're only restricting your options, both in regards to the router and the necessary ISP-blessed proprietary ONT.
Details depend on the particular fibre deployment of your ISP and may differ between cities or when the network was activated.
