the w6x is 166$ usd on ebay, i think im gonna go for a xiaomi 4c gigabit 20$ here but i dont know there have been so many bugs with flashing that i have read and that makes me doubt
You aren't going to either way.
Most ftth deployments are GPON based these days, meaning you either need a dedicated ONT or an SFP+ based ONT. Same difference, both are 'modems' running their own proprietary firmware, functionally identical, just a different formfactor. By insisting on SFP, you're only restricting your options, both in regards to the router and the necessary ISP-blessed proprietary ONT.
Details depend on the particular fibre deployment of your ISP and may differ between cities or when the network was activated.
