Yesterday I have changed the compat version to 2.0 and sysupgrade was working fine.
Thx for helping me, and sorry for my overlook.

No I use my own script DDos Protection script which uses its own table that it worked for a short time with the Rc7 and the Wan port works normally indicates a problem. As I said, the Rc2 does not have this problem, there works the DDos protection on the Wireguard interface in the same way as on the Wan interface.

Hey, I remember your script. Add counter between rules so you see for good whats applied at what point.

The drop rules are already provided with counter it is definitely not a script problem the rules simply do not take effect but snort which is connected via a queue to the prerouting hook priority 300 sees the packets. That's why I only noticed it because Snort spammed my log with “PROTOCOL-ICMP Destination Unreachable Fragmentation Needed and DF bit was set” messages. I was initially surprised that the Wireguard drop rules were set to 0, but I thought my Vpn provider had solved the problem with its internal network, and it didn't occur to me that the rules no longer worked with the Wireguard interface. Such packets should not arrive at the point with my script, they don't with rc2 (or a not current version of fw4, I haven't tested that) either.

upgrading an Aerohive BR200-WP from 23.05.5 to 24.10.0-rc7 fails and ends in a bootloop on my device. Serial log below

That's what I'm also waiting for :+1:

I smell fish, can you try to reduce repeater code?

As @egc said, it should not. When I did the standard DumbAP configuration, the router has two problems. The first problem is 2G/5G WiFi gets internet only if the upstream is connected to the wan port. The second problem is the wired connection can get on-line no matter which port the upstream is connected to but can not access LuCI unless the upstream is on the wan port. The VLAN configuration solves both problems.

To my understanding, for such a simple case VLAN is not necessary. + the settings do nothing. But the device has some trick that requires it, understood. :+1:

Having problems doing manual CPU affinity of Ethernet queues. After a while CPU affinity of the rps queues gets reset using either of the possibilities under Packet steering. It is possible to make a change and it takes effect when changed but after a while it defaults back to the following:

  • Disabled -> 0
  • Enabled -> 1
  • Enabled (All CPUs) -> f

I get why it would do it when enabled, but i fail to see it as expected behavior when disabled.
Currently running x86_64 with ixgbe driver on a X10SDV-4C-TLN2F, is anyone else seeing the same?

Well, everything (including OpenVPN and WireGuard) was running fine with the configuration. In order to test it further, I setup the extroot environmant and then installed docker and the lms container. Afterward, both the wired and wireless connection would not work. I don't know when it broke because I happened to connect with the main router's wifi during installation after several reboots. (The XR500 is connected to the main router as a DumbAP.) I think I am done with the XR500.

no it is not, not adviced, never use releases or rc's before official announcement.
i have to report you bro.

How bad it could be compared to snapshot or release candidate build ?

couple recent ones had major issues, if i remember correctly 2 times in a 2024

I see finally OpenWrt v24.10.0 has been released Here

"Released" is when the announcement has been made. Currently it is in the build phase.

As noted by @Ramon and @RHBH,

24.10.0 is NOT released.

24.10.0 is released: OpenWrt 24.10.0 - First Stable Release

If you want to do a premature test installation of that version prior to release, you are at risk because no tests have been done on it. If you do install and run into issues, please report any real errors, but not things like missing device support or missing packages, those will be expected until the builds are done and the release is actually announced.
