OpenWrt 21.02.3 Third service release

Looks like the 21.02.3 Docker images are published now and the Github release for 21.02.3 has also been created.

So a possible answer to my own question is that Docker images will be published around the time the official Github release is created for the same version.

This is why I never use those. I stick to the original drivers.

I swapped out my cable modem, and splitter leading to the cable modem. No more disconnections have appeared in about 24 hours, so I am considering this issue solved and not related to the firmware.

Many imagebuilder packages do not contain a profiles folder...

make info does not show any profile:

make manifest yields an error:

Profile "linksys_wrt3200acm" does not exist!
Use "make info" to get a list of available profile names.
make[1]: *** [Makefile:216: _check_profile] Error 1
make: *** [Makefile:249: manifest] Error 2

Is this an error? Or did I miss something? Thanks!

With TP-Link AC2600 things were fine after the upgrade. But I pushed the reset button accidentally which caused 5GHz wify to become stuck in disable mode and no restarting or configuration helped.

I removed the network from luci, then configured again and it started to work. If that matters, I used 60th channel with 80MHz width.

Release notes at https://openwrt.org/releases/22.03/notes-22.03.0-rc1 say:

OpenWrt 22.03.0-rc1 - First Release Candidate - 24 April 2021

Should this be 24 April 2022 ?

On TP-Link Archer A7 v5, when I scan wifi (using either "iw wlan0 scan" or luci wifi interface scan), the kernel logs a firmware crash for ath10k_pci. I'm pretty sure that didn't happen prior to this point release.

Otherwise everything is working fine.

Problem encryption = none with luci & mesh / SAE

There seems to be an issue with mesh (802.11s) and DFS channels on ETSI domains, in 21.02.3 that was not present in 21.02.2. My mesh continues to work fine with channel 108 when the regulatory domain is set to a non-ETSI country (e.g. US), but not with EU countries.

Similar symptoms have previously reported for 19.07.3, but I think it is likely that the underlying cause was different.

Working well on the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X with the stman 19.07.2 kernel factory tar + the stock 21.02.3 squashfs image.

Far and away the best performance and consistency I've had thus far on my RPi 4B, best release I could ask for.

This release has worked well on my Netgear R7800. Nice work.

Will there be a new release in this development branch?

bump
any info?

I second this question. There have been 80+ commits since 21.02.3.

Since 22.03.0 was just released, the 21.02 series will eventually be EOL'd. As of now, there has been no such announcement. I don't have any insight into when the dev team will officially EOL 21.02, but what I can say is that, if 19.07 is a reasonable precedent, the n-1 version may be updated for a little while longer for bug fixes and security patches, often in tandem with (or nearly so) with newest version.

21.02.4 has been released.

Similarly, the first service release for 22.03 has been released.
