I have a wrt1900acs with openwr 21.02 full updated and openvpn-openssl_2.5.3-3_arm_cortex-a9_vfpv3-d16 working good but when I install openvpn-openssl_2.5.4-1_arm_cortex-a9_vfpv3-d16 uddate it just stops working.

Works for me on OpenWrt snapshot for x86-64 installed just now.
Reflash an up-to-date snapshot, or use the latest stable release.
