You are use original console adapter or just any usb-com adapter?
I use one of those light blue cisco usb to uart cables. I can't help with any testing since I sold mine on ebay recently. Switched over to my watchguard T70 which is fanless and thus completely silent.

I also have one of those units.
I followed Recovering the BIOS password from a Panasonic CF-U1 mk2 (AMI Aptio UEFI) · GitHub, but sadly, it works fine with the NSG-C unit but not with this one.
Would flashing a BIOS of Advantech FWA-1010VC (bios file seems to be 1010VCV016.bin in the manual) be an option to try to get rid of the BIOS password? Sadly, I doesn't have that file.
Does anyone has any luck getting rid of the BIOS password?
