Maybe it is related: "Segmentation fau[ 5.435046] mount_root: failed to launch kmodloader from internal overlay
lt"
https://bugs.lede-project.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=544

Problem with kmodloader on armeb is the same as I reported in FS#544. insmod works because, internally, it does not call the broken routine. kmodloader (modinfo, modprobe, etc) only crashes when there are modules with 'aliases' in the meta-data. Otherwise, no problems.

We are investigating the issue - stay tuned.

@bobafetthotmail
So the major issue is not related to NSA310. SO maybe small issue can be fixed.
During upgarde NSA via LAN (not serial) the connection is immediately broken, it looks like or ssh connection or whole link is shutdown.
ssh terminal:

root@LEDEnsa310:/tmp# sysupgrade -d 5 lede-kirkwood-nsa310b-squashfs-sysupgrade.tar
Image metadata not found
Saving config files...
Connection to 192.168.1.31 closed by remote host.

but on serial console we see:

Maybe too many services is killed ?

For example on my router (upgrade via ssh) I see:

During upgarde NSA via LAN (not serial) the connection is immediately broken, it looks like or ssh connection or whole link is shutdown.

Yes, the device closes the SSH connection when upgrading. It's normal. I'm using the default sysupgrade used by all kirkwoods, and also my goflexnet (was in OpenWRT since a long time) does like that.

I think your router is still using the old sysupgrade, many devices are still using the legacy image generation/sysupgrade code and have not yet been ported. I think it should eventually act as kirkwoods in the future.
