I would like to setup the NordLynx protocol on my Linksys WRT1900ACS with openwrt…is this possible? I found some guides here on the forum but I'm not clear on the difference between wireguard and NordLynx 
NordLynx appears to be a NordVPN specific protocol, "built around Wireguard"...
But a VPN from NordVpn is only with NordLynx protocol?
No... NordVPN supports OpenVPN and even has a tutorial for configuring it on OpenWrt (I can't vouch for the accuracy of the tutorial, though).
If they support 'pure' WireGuard, you can also use that method on OpenWrt. But their special NordLynx protocol doesn't appear to be ported to OpenWrt or any routers in general (just the 'big' OS's: Linux/Mac/Win, iOS/Android).
There is a script here somewhere for Nord lynx to create a config file for wireguard.
It worked some time ago, I guess it is still good.

I don’t know because I don’t use NordVpn. Give it a shot and see if it works.

Those instructions worked for me. Set it up over a year ago and it's been running since.
