No space left netgear wndr3700v2

Hello,
In my netgear wndr3700v2 I has no space left.
Free space: 1% (184.00 KB)
I am running LEDE Reboot 17.01.4 . I have installed a vpn easy-rsa (guide openwrt) with obfsproxy and two wifi's.
Which programs can I remove without losing vpn and wireless functionality ? I want space to install nano. Remove e.g. Python? More?
Regards,

Lucas

Python? Lord have mercy.

Use the image generator to repackage the firmware image you're using. It's way more efficient space-wise than to install packages after flashing. Those take more space due to not being compressed.

Looking at the device wiki, you only have 16MB of ROM, so you'd be better of doing what @Borromini suggested and compiling your own image with essential packages, then moving non-essential packages, such as python, git, nano, etc. to a chroot on USB. You could also configure extroot, however ROM flash operates at a far higher throughput than USB2.

@JW0914 and @Borromini,

I thank you both, good idea and a challenge.
Regards,

Lucas
