No IP on WAN interface

Hello
I have a new Linksys 3200ACM router which I have tried to work, I can not get an ip from my isp, I have a tp link with org. software that works fine.
can see in my log it tries 3 times with discover and then nothing happens if I put it after my tp-link router it gets an ip from my lan so it works on interfaces.
Are there any who can help a beginner with openwrt?
thanks

Could be to do with the different MAC address on your new router

Try copying the TP-Links's WAN MAC address for the linksys WAN connection

What's the WAN MAC on the TP-LINK ... no idea how to get that

How to set the WAN MAC on the Linksys running OpenWrt - I'm assuming you're not comfortable with SSH and editing config files by hand - so, in the web interface go to

network > Interfaces > Devices - click on configure for eth1

Assuming you have OpenWRT 21.02.0

I'm sure it's not a mac address issue as my isp allows me to change router (have several that I have tried to troubleshoot) but have tried to copy the mac address from my tp link.

Thanks for your help !

Mine does too - but - if I don't shutdown my old router "gracefully" and just unplug it then slap a new router on, it can take some time (up to 60 minutes) before I get a connection

I have tried now for several days without success, same problem udhcpc: sending discover no ip

I have also tried with fixed ip on isp no internet can not ping 8.8.8.8 or anything else

So, which version of OpenWRT did you flash on the 3200ACM?

Have you tried factory resetting the router? Perhaps you messed up a config?

Isn't that something your ISP would configure?

Reading your responses, I believe a factory reset may help - then, plug it in, and it should just work

It has been tried 3 times without success :frowning:
I think I've tried everything
new image and reset it just will not

it does seem to (at least try to) send packets over WAN - absolutely no indication that it's receiving anything though

Perhaps the linksys is faulty

Perhaps the WAN port is faulty ... there may be a way (I think) to use one of the LAN ports as the WAN ...
