I have followed your instructions and I have been able to install Operwrt ver 23.05.5 on the Ex5601-T0 router. I had the problem with the wan port and I solved it accordingly to your instructions. Now I have a PC with static ip address 192.168.1.3 linked by ethernet cable to LAN3 port of the router. The router has "LAN" interface, with static address 192.168.1.2, built on top of "br-lan" device grouping LAN2, LAN4 and LAN4 bridge ports. WAN interface, that is a DHCP client, use the "eth1" device. The firewall is correctly configured, that br-lan on lan and eth1 on wan areas. The openwrt router wan port is linked by ethernet cable to a port of the ISP provided router. The issue is that the PC does not see internet. If I log into the router via ssh, I can ping Internet address, DNS resolving fails, but from the PC i can connect succesfully to openwrt router but not to ISP provided router. Would you be so kind to point me to any available example of how to do ? My configura guess, should be quite normal. Thanks a lot into advance, I'm struggling without any result
I think you can better start your own topic. I don't fully get the picture of your set up.
But in the Netherlands the ISP routers always have DHCP enabled so they are in a different ip range then your openwrt router. So that's why you can't reach your isp router from behind your openwrt router.
But your didn't give all info so this is just guessing.
If you're behind fiber glass connection, skip your isp router.
The only way to know what's really going on is to look at the config:
Please connect to your OpenWrt device using ssh and copy the output of the following commands and post it here using the "Preformatted text </>
" button:
Remember to redact passwords, MAC addresses and any public IP addresses you may have:
ubus call system board
cat /etc/config/network
cat /etc/config/wireless
cat /etc/config/dhcp
cat /etc/config/firewall
In addition, please provide just the first 2 octets (in bold: aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd) of the following:
ifstatus wan | grep address
Thanks a lot for your fast and kind reply.
I succeed in navigating bu the connection is not stable. I need to find someone using my same ISP (Windtre) to understand which connection parameters he is using.
Cheers
Carlo
P.S.: I wish you an happy new year!
Google led met to the fibra.click forum where there are multiple mentions of you ISP. Since I can not read Italian I do not know if this is helpful.
