New User restrictions

How long will it take for new user status to be lifted so I can help support development?
If you do not with people to help with development, I'm sorry I have come back to this project.
If you wish for me to spam topics cause I'm limited to 3 posts per topic, I'll do this instead.
But it seems like development for a specific AP should be done withing a single topic as it is currently done, and this your not allow to make >3 posts per topic does not help, it may be good for a solutions thread, but not a developer thread.

3 messages in a row per topic will be limit in next trust level (I will not tell the name or superpowers it adds, but you get there in a month)
Yours is not noob.
Trust Level basic user

No need to try to guilt trip mods (me not them)

I have no idea what your talking about.
My rating changed to based after making this post, not before.
There is nothing on this board that explains that there was a rating system, or what the ratings are, so the question.

Discourse (the forum software) has a series of "trust levels" starting with TL0 (a new user) up to TL4 (for admins). The system automatically promotes users according to a set of criteria related to engagement.

They describe the levels along with the privileges and promotion criteria in an article on their site. Be aware that the article has values for certain things (such as number of posts created, amount of time/number of posts read, etc.) as well as some of the granted permissions at each level -- some of these are examples and not the values used on this site. The forum software is written such that administrators of a given site can adjust the specific values according to their needs (often based the community usage patterns, spam prevention, etc.).

I hope this helps explain everything. If you have any additional questions, please feel to ask.

It does not explain how new developers are suppose to contribute to this community. As I have stated a few times in a few posts, this is limitimg my ability to contriubute to any given project to more than 3 posts.

3 posts are needed to discuess and give/get feedback to develop anything.
If this community does not want help from new developers, that is ok, your right to limit.

This (I.e. the forum) is just one way that developers can contribute -- there are other channels, too, such as the OpenWrt devel mailing list.

That said, the forum itself (in fact, probably most forums on the internet) needs to strike a balance between trust and protection. The Discourse software allows users to prove that they are trustworthy based on their engagement, contributions, and behaviors -- earning more trust as they go.

Just like in so many situations in life, trust needs to be established/earned. Can someone be trusted to pay back a loan? Will they be a committed partner? Are they responsible with confidential or classified information? And so on.

Although the limitations do seem a bit burdensome initially, they legitimately protect the forum from spam, trolling, and other malicious behaviors. And it only takes a little while to earn the trust level such that you can create more posts and gain other privileges.

This is not to imply that you, personally, are not trustworthy. This is how the forum software works, and all users go through the same trust-building process (and sometimes a person will prove that they are not trustworthy by spamming the board and such, but we do our best to prevent that in the first place).

If it's code you want to work with, there's always GitHub.

Since you've pretty much only posted in the w1700k thread, I assume it's where you'd like to contribute.
You can head over to GH and submit your patches and/or post comment in the w1700k PR.

The link to the PR is in the 1st post of the w1700k thread.
