Network device is not present

I just restored an old backup to a raspberry Pi 4 but it seems that the second NIC is not detected
then WAN display "Network device is not present"

here is the config

config interface 'loopback'
	option device 'lo'
	option proto 'static'
	option ipaddr '127.0.0.1'
	option netmask '255.0.0.0'

config globals 'globals'
	option ula_prefix 'fd3d:178e:085e::/48'

config device
	option name 'br-lan'
	option type 'bridge'
	list ports 'eth0'

config interface 'lan'
	option device 'br-lan'
	option proto 'static'
	option ipaddr '192.168.99.1'
	option netmask '255.255.255.0'
	option if6assign '60'

config interface 'WAN'
	option proto 'dhcp'
	option device 'eth1'
	option peerdns '0'
	list dns '1.1.1.1'
	list dns '8.8.8.8'

config device
	option name 'eth0'

my second NIC is a USB 3.2 Gen1 And Gigabit Ethernet HUB HAT for Raspberry Pi, 3x USB, 1x Gigabit ETH, Driver-Free

both NICs have the led on

I don't seem to have internet access but that's obvious since my WAN is not detected....

what does lsusb say ?

What happens if you reset - and don't use a backup of the configs?

I can't tell I can't install the package :frowning:
susb > not found
Unknown package 'usbutils'. (no WAN)

I only have br-lan /eth0

As already posted in your other thread, reconfigure your LAN to be DHCP client.

That's actually two different systems but yes.

-- when I change to DHCP (BR-LAN) I end up with "Configuration changes have been rolled back!"

it's probably something really simple, I'll take a better look later on

Gateway IP Broadcast IP USABLE IPs IP Range Subnet Mask
192.168.1.1 192.168.1.255 249 192.168.1.6 - 192.168.1.254 255.255.255.0
I'll might try with a static IP)

It is, use the small button (down arrow?) next to the save & apply, and select apply unchecked.

Static works too, as long as you make sure you add dns, and gw IPs.

Strange but after a few reboot the second interface was back online .... a bit random but it's working.
thanks for your help.
