First off I'm in the UK and am trying to set this R8000 up to use as a dedicated router for my Quest 3.
Currently we also have a Mesh setup with three nodes. These are using the 'normal' 5GHZ channels (34-50 for clients and 100-114 for the backhaul).
Idea was to get this up and running on a different group of channels to minimise interference.
I'm even having trouble in getting either of the Radios up on any channels. Nearly every time I try to set it to channels outside of the above, the Interface seems to disable itself.
I did have this up and running on Radio 0 in the 149-165 range, which worked perfectly until I rebooted the router, now I get nothing again.
Looking at the Wireless overview, looks like the Radio has become disabled, which I cannot resolve.
Make sure all three of the radios are set to your same country (UK). If one is on a different country or unconfigured, strange things may happen.
In a "tri-band" router, one of the 5 GHz radios only works in the low part of the band (channel 64 and below) and the other one only works the high part (channel 100 and above).
This is in addition to the other restrictions of country rules and DFS. Also of course it's Broadcom chips, which are not well supported by open drivers.
@LilRedDog
Sorry I didn't see the link in your first post, I have read it and yes it does seem like it's the same issue. I mean mine wasn't weeks, but similar.
@mk24
Thanks, I've followed the instructions on the link and set radio2 to channel 48, albeit it's still disabled.
radio 0 is on 149
All radios are on GB, I tried it with US, and it's the same.. Enabling radio2 I get a signal, but it's on the same channels my mesh uses.
Attempted several disable/enable of radio0 and in the Wireless Overview page, it still shows as disabled.
I might flash back to Stock and then try again, not sure if I will have any better luck though
So I attempted to go back to Stock Fireware and I think I balls it up.
I went from DD-WRT to stock with out issue, but this time it's partially up, but in AP mode and I cannot access the webgui or wifi..
Not sure what to try other then write it off as me being a plank.
@mk24
Thank you very much for that, all back to stock.
It's a pain as the stock firmware will not stay off the channels that the Mesh Network is using.
I've decided to go for a 6e router, but at least I can resell this one.
