It does, of course, work to plug the Mercusys directly into the Mikrotik? If you have access to the parts on the left side of the picture, definitely try that to make sure your configuration is correct.
A layer 2 bridge (WDS) should be agnostic to the protocol, working only on MAC addresses. But a layer 3 connection (standard AP-STA) requires IP routing and will not work to forward non-IP traffic. It should work to terminate the pppoe tunnel in the Litebeam instead of in the router downstream.

Assuming the Tenda outdoor AP cannot be set into WDS mode, you're going to have to run pppoe inside the Litebeam (where it has layer 2 access to the wireless link) instead of in the MR50G. OpenWrt can do that. It would be simpler to use WDS if possible though.
