Hello everyone,
I have recently installed openwrt firmware on my netgear nighthawk x4 AC200, model: EX7300v2
it is a Wi-Fi mesh extender, with one ethernet port. The router can act as an extender or as an access point.
The main problem is that the router itself cannot connect to the internet, i.e when I try to use the Luci interface to update package list, it cannot download them, and also when i try to ping openwrt.org in the network>diagnostics, it comes back with a bad address "openwrt.org"
however, when an ethernet cable is connected to the router, my devices can connect to it's Wi-Fi fine and they can access the internet.
the ethernet cable connecting to the openwrt router comes from LAN of another router whose IP is 192.168.0.2, I changed the IP of this openwrt router to 192.168.2.1, and changed the ipv4 gateway and DNS to 192.168.0.2
can anyone help me to resolve this?
my final aim is to install a VPN on this router. so i would like to download the wireguard package.
if someone has an alternative way of doing this, that would be greatly appreciated as well
below are the network configurations
/etc/config/network
Reset the device and use web interface.
I am using the web interface
I have reset multiple times already, what else should i implement on this new reset?
Should not be that complex, new routers IP should be in same network as existing router/ap LAN and provide no DHCP. bridger
for extra speed.
