So my router has bunch of files excluding the system upgrade:
read the device page, it explains what they're for.
once you've installed openwrt, you only really need the sysupgrade.
its now bricked i will have to start an issue again
How?
You posted a successful sysupgrade
from immortalwrt to OpenWrt, and obviously you were running OpenWrt to have posted the image.
yes but after running opkg upgrade and rebooting the device it went dark, Dont know any reason for this didnt use any cautious commands
Hi
opkg update / upgrade is very dangerous command
it is not used in this way
only update / install
prefered way of upgrading OWRT is trough sysupgrade
once installed, leave it alone, or install missing packages, but don't do opkg upgrade
no no I did flashed via sysupgrade successfully and booted, then I just ran opkg update and opkg upgrade, then after running it and rebooting my device, i noticed it went dark, no leds no nothing but the pc can detect ethernet connection.
i told you
don't !!! use opkg update / upgrade !!!!
i didnt know that simple command would cause such a big destruction
It’s well documented. Unless you really know what you’re doing, never blindly call an opkg upgrade.
Try a Factory Reset
i have opened another topic based on this new issue, seems like the leds are dead and its blind, i cant understand anything. Resetting didnt help no leds light up ever. I assume its in a very bad condition and someone who knows about this device well can help me out.
