I need your expertise. Lately I have been getting bad latency spikes on our WIFI. Our iPad PRO even dropout in the middle of playing online games.
I have not been able to solve it. I have tried different settings for the SQM-QoS, for packet steering and Flow offloading.
Earlier this year I upgraded our router to a Fujitsu S920 running the latest stable x86/64 build of OpenWRT and have an Archer C7 v2 as a dumb AP (latest stable release).
The connection is fiber 100/100. On the computer connected to the Dumb AP with a cable. I consistently get A+ with low latency on Waveform.
On WIFI Waveform gives a A+ rating, but sometimes just an A or worse, with a notice that the connection is bad for low latency gaming.
Settings are mostly default.
Fujitsu S920 settings:
SQM QoS installed, ingress/egress = 90/90, running Cake, piece of cake.qos, Overhead 44.
Packet Steering is disabled
Flow offloading is disabled
Dumb AP – Archer C7 v2:
Packet Steering is disabled
Flow offloading is disabled
The Archer c7 v2 has an QCA9880 and support TXQS/ATF/AQL.
The OpenWRT Dumb AP setup suggested configuring AQL to solve latency issues on the Dumb AP. But I cannot find any information about how you are supposed to do it?
I have also seen posts talking about different ath10k firmwares? Could this be the issue?
No issues while using a wired connection to my computer. On the computer connected to the Dumb AP with a cable consistently get A+ with low latency on Waveform.
