Hello,
I tried to build a new openwrt image starting from @mj82's repository 6.8 image branch, but all I get is a solid red light for SYS
. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have no idea what I am doing here .
I used the following changes:
And these are the steps that I attempted:
Built the image:
- used
make menuconfig
to select the new NanoPC T6 - Build the image using
make
Applied the image
1. Piggy back on FriendlyWRT
- Flashed the FriendlyELEC 23.05 image using their instructions:
https://wiki.friendlyelec.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPC-T6#Flash_Official_OS_to_eMMC
Specificallyrk3588-eflasher-friendlywrt-23.05-20231201.img.gz
from01_Official images -> 02_SD-to-eMMC images
here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SFbJLgS6hbskl-9cM7SwBBQu1JYB7oUg/view?usp=drive_link - Used the UI to flash the OpenWRT image generated at the previous step
openwrt-rockchip-armv8-friendlyelec_nanopc-t6-ext4-sysupgrade.img.gz
Result: - Solid red light; no boot from emmc; no boot from microSD; Needed to do recovery using USB install from a PC
2. Direct install
- On the eflasher MicroSD created earlier I added the openwrt-rockchip-armv8-friendlyelec_nanopc-t6-ext4-sysupgrade.img.gz`
- In
eflasher.conf
changedautoStart=rk3588-eflasher-friendlywrt-23.05-20231201.img.gz
as per instructions at: https://wiki.friendlyelec.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPC-T6#Flash_third_party_OS_.28Image_file.29_to_eMMC
Result:
As before: Solid red light; no boot from emmc; no boot from microSD; Needed to do recovery using USB install from a PC
Recovery using USB from PC
- Followed instructions from here: https://wiki.friendlyelec.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPC-T6#Option_3:_Install_OS_via_USB
- Downloaded the tool to flash images
- Powered on using the
POWER
button while holding theMASK
for 3 seconds (Note: attempting start it by plugin the power source was very flaky. After a few attempts I gave up so as not to fry it) - Note: Below I using their Linux USB flashing tool from here:
05_Tools -> upgrade_tool_v2.17_for_linux.zip
but their Windows USB Flashing tools works too for this, just more flaky. - Uploaded the
MiniLoaderAll.bin
from therk3588-usb-friendlywrt-23.05-20231201.zip
