MTU limited to 2030 on SFP cages

I have a Banana Pi BPI-R4-8G, and for some reason, I just can set the MTU to the maximum of 2030 in both SFP cages.
I don't know if it's a limitation of the fibre module where I get Internet, or the copper cable I use as uplink to the switch.

Anyone has or had this problem? Maybe it's a problem with the board itself?

It is mtk_soc_eth ser-des limitation. Same applies to wired ports or dsa switch connections.

Nope, it seems to be hardware limitation. There was some discussion on GH that DSA switch supports 9000 between ports, to enable VLANs without SoC ports at MTU9000
