Mikrotik RB952Ui-5ac2nD

Thu Jan 31 03:59:23 2019 kern.info kernel: [ 0.000000] SoC: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9533 ver 2 rev 0

Detected at startup openwrt chip QCA9533, true chip QCA9531
https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/mikrotik/mikrotik_rb952ui-5ac2nd_hap_ac_lite

As a result, if you force a card, it is flashed normally, but there is no switch configuration and port LEDs. WLAN 5g (QCA9887) does not work, USB does not have a power port, port 5 is lit red (gpio14) it turns off if the gpio value is 0

@Pahalan

I added a potential fix for the issue to my staging tree.

Could you build and test it?

Thanks,

Koen

@xback
Hey. I unfortunately can not build an image. I can test the already built image. Thank

@Pahalan
Hey,

In the meantime a similar fix landed in the master tree, so images should je available.

Regards,

Koen

@xback
I checked today the image from the master tree, the problem persists

root@OpenWrt:~# cat /tmp/sysinfo/board_name unknown

@Pahalan

Could you share the output of:

dmesg
cat /proc/cpuinfo

I'll take a look as soon as I can.

Thanks,

Koen

Hi,

A large fix for Mikrotik board detection landed shortly after your build above.
Could you retest by building the latest 19.07 branch?

Thanks

@xback
Hi!
I can not build the last branch 19.07. Maybe there is a built image ?. There is no download on the official page 19.07. Check 18.06.4 - does not work (

Hey. I experienced the same issues as you.
I just built a the 19.07 version for this device, but have not yet tested it.
You can find it here https://gitlab.com/nkay08/openwrt-ar71xx-mikrotik-rb-nor-flash-16m-ac/tree/master/19.07/ar71xx/mikrotik.
I will test it as soon as I get home.

a whole bunch of devices in a single mach file, it is really wonder there are no more problems than just a few. probably you need to first verify your hardware version and then compare it with hw version of a user that added initial support. after that recheck gpio settings and similar.

I updated my repository.

https://gitlab.com/nkay08/openwrt-ar71xx-mikrotik-rb-nor-flash-16m-ac

You can find builds in openwrt/bin/targets/.../.... I have several branches with different build options.
For example with the useful sqm package: https://gitlab.com/nkay08/openwrt-ar71xx-mikrotik-rb-nor-flash-16m-ac/tree/19.07-luci-extra

Have you tested Dynamic VLANs configuration in this device? In my configuration I am not able to make them work. I have successfully used 8021x in other OpenWRT devices though with the same config.

	option vlan '2'
	option vid '3'
	option ports '1t 0t

One more Question/remark: Tagged & Untagged VLAN on the Same Port also does not work. Is this a device restriction?

Hi, anyone could install 21.02 on this router? If so, how, which image?
Thanks!

Not supported till now, have ask to help here:

Maybe someone can assist to develop 21.02 support...

21.02.x is done and dusted, apart from bugfixes, nothing is going to happen there.
22.03.x is branched and in its -rc phase, that /might/ still allow in (easy-) new device additions, but if you do want anything you to happen, someone (which might end up being you, yourself) will have to provide a patch set against master/ snapshots. Only master accepts new devices additions, only once it's been added there, it /might/ be backported to 22.03.x, but chances for 21.02.x are essentially zero at this point.

Already have run it successfully on 21.02.3. Thnx.)

What can be done - and what stands a chance for backporting to the official 21.02.x are two different pairs of shoes. The precondition is always to go through master, from there are still quite reasonable chances for 22.03.x, but only minimal ones for 22.02.x.

Hello expert,

I also see this problem on my Meraki MR33 platform. The error message as below:
