omagad ...I thought the ipq50xx were supported
even the switch chip doesn't seem to be supported either

ipq807x is, and there is ongoing (slow) work on ipq60xx, there is nothing for ipq50xx do far.

...and 512 MB RAM for ath11k is small, not quite too small, but small. It also largely dependa on NSS to achieve wirespeed, which is not going to happen.

any update? no news about ipq5018?

Not really.

There has been some activity on ipq50xx target support in https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/17182, but it's still quite far (months+) away from being merged (and neither of this would magically make the L009UiGS supported, with Mikrotik often haven some special annoyances waiting for you, hello yaffs2, 'special' bootloaders, etc.).

Unless a device is explicitly marked as supported, don't bet on the future, you will only lose. The mere passing of time won't call out magic code fairies either. If in doubt, either you will do the porting work - or it won't be done by anyone else either.

There are quite a few other -supported- filogic 830/ 820, ipq807x or ipq60xx devices to choose from.
