My friend tried to install Openwrt via normal methods, but somehow he bricked it. It's on bootloop. So, I offered help but, no way but serial there is. But he got soldering all wrong. So, the board in this condition, as I see it you gotta bridge R3 by itself, and R6 by itself. But there s no copper line left on there to solder on. How to solve this? Maybe R3 and R6 have equals elsewhere no?
Based on those pictures, a normal person would run away, fast, don't stop, don't look back.
Nouuu, we dont even have mr90x anymore its out of stock.
Or wait, does anyone have a full mtd flash of mr90x? I can flash it via SPI flasher.
Look at the bright side, you got a new doorstop, without even ordering one - progress.
Hey man its still booting ok? At least, boot looping... So there is hope, right? I only need a full flash of this router. Then I will just flash it. Then, good as new. He can still use it as a doorstop aswell as a router ![]()
The PCB is at least 4, probably 6 layers, the damage goes deep, the via is gone, a lot of heat involved, a huge ocean of solder, no flux and still crystallization, physical abuse and a full blown short - you get to keep both pieces.
Soldering isn't easy, it needs experience and at least not completely wrong tools. Doing the first practice rounds on your new router is not a great idea.
You wanna bet? I am repairing this router. I already found a new way.
Ok I gave up loll
There are supposedly via's that are actually R6, supposedly but I can't be sure. The via's are too small. Too much risk of frying the board..
