Mercusys MR60X V2

Hi,

I bought 2 of these routers hoping they would be supported by openwrt soon.

In the meantime is there any developer prepared to open channels in the firmware. The router only has 36+40+44+48 and I really need 1 more block open. In South Africa we have channels permitted up to 165.

The router specs as follows:

Hardware rev V2.20
MT7621 Likely
WiFi 6, 128mb ram 16mb SPI NOR
Ax1500

I'd be happy to send the firmware I have or it is available at mercusys.com

I have called TP-link and asked them to please open 1 more 80 MHz block but it's been a while without any response.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

V2 is said not to be Mediatek - Mercusys MR60X support - #7 by musashino.

Okay, so found this. Feeling ripped off. Was hoping for MT but mercusys always sneakily changes H/W.

CPU: Realtek RTL8197H (SoC)
· Architecture: MIPS (24Kc core, 32-bit)
· WiFi Chip: Realtek RTL8832 (5GHz) & RTL8197H internal (2.4GHz)
· Switch: Realtek RTL8367S

Is it possible though to open another channel block in UI, one that the chips reg allows

If you don't know, please don't state it - especially if you've proven it wrong just a little later.

If correct, there is no support in OpenWrt for this SOC so far. While -maybe- not impossible, it would take a lot of work and effort for experienced developers to materialize - and realistically it's not very likely to happen.

I know because I downloaded the GPL and read it in kernel.config

I sent this back to Amazon and ordered the cudy ax3000 and though the listing on Amazon says cortex a53 1.3ghz it appears that again Amazon listing could be incorrect and I get v1 with a triductor chip.

I wish they could be more transparent and label the version in description
